Hello friends, and welcome to the blog! I’m so happy that you are here today.
What a weekend it’s been. We had violin perfomances, and took a short trip to Pigeon Forge. I did some yard work, and bought ferns for my front porch. Overall, it has been very good. Busy, but good.
My husband and I had the time to talk for awhile while we were in Pigeon Forge. The trip takes a little over two hours one way, and so that was a lot of down time.
After arriving home late on Friday evening from watching my children in their recitals, I wasn’t sure if I would want to get up bright and early to go to Parrot Mountain. You see, we planned to visit Parrot Mountain on our anniversary trip a month ago, but it was closed due to the weather. My husband said we would try again soon, so this was our “do over.”

After deciding to go through with it, the alarm was set for 5:30 am. I wanted to get my time on the exercise bike in before we left. I’m so glad I did. I just feel so much better for the rest of the day when I exercise in the morning.
On the drive, we talked about a lot of things. Our family, our faith, our home. It was very refreshing. It is nice to take time away with our spouses from time to time.
We still share our bedroom with our son Moses, so we don’t get a lot of time alone. But I know this is only for a season. I’m so grateful for all of the time I get to spend with my family.
I’ve realized that no matter what circumstance we might be in, it helps to be positive. While I didn’t want to get up early on Saturday, I told myself that I would have a great time after we left, and spending the time with my husband would help build our marriage. Both of these things were true! I may have slept ten hours straight on Saturday evening, but my lack of sleep on Friday was worth it.
Sometimes I may want a bigger house with more bedrooms. Sharing a room with my three-year-old isn’t perfectly ideal. But then I remind myself that this time will pass much too quickly, and I will miss his time in our room one day. Lord willing, we will be able to finish more rooms in our basement before too long.
As mamas, it is important to be positive! We can definitely affect the atmosphere of our homes. I’ve realized that I can’t expect my children to have a positive attitude if I don’t have one.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a lovely week, and I will talk to you again soon.
