Encourage Kindness With This Free Poem Printable

Hey friends, and welcome to the blog today.

Lately, my four-year-old has decided that hitting is a good way to retaliate if things do not go his way. As a mom of nine, I definitely have dealt with this before!

I’ve been encouraging kind behavior by (hopefully) modeling it myself and sharing ways to express frustration that doesn’t hurt others. This morning I shared this little poem with him as soon as he got out of bed to remind him that our hands and feet are meant to help, and not hurt others. I thought your little one might need the encouragement too, so I created a printable for us all to use.

Never raise a hand to hit.

Never raise a foot to kick.

Use your hands to give a hug.

Use feet to run to those you love.

Frustration is a normal and natural thing for us all to experience from time to time, and it is important to teach our little ones appropriate ways to express their concerns without resorting to hitting and kicking.

Parenting can be difficult at times, but the investment we put into our children’s lives really is priceless.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
