Oh my goodness, friends. It felt so strange typing 2024 in the title of this post just now. What in the world? How are we already here?
Throughout the day, I try to think about my blessings and thank God for them. This has become a habit, and a very good one if I do say so myself. Remembering to be grateful is a wonderful way to cultivate a peaceful life!
Today, I thought I would share some of the things I’m thankful for. I hope you are encouraged to look for the blessings in your own life, too.
First of all, I’m very grateful for my relationship with the Divine. It might look a bit different than it used to, but the loving and steadying presence I feel each day is so precious to me.
I’m thankful for my family and my home. We have been sick off and on this month, and I am thankful that our immune systems are growing stronger. I’m thankful for our perfectly imperfect home, and all of the projects my husband and sons have been able to accomplish.

I’m thankful for our land. In the winter, I get to walk in the woods without fear of ticks, snakes, and poison ivy. I’m very thankful for that, ha! I view Creation as my Bible, and I’m so happy that I have a small part of it to enjoy at home. What a blessing!
I’m thankful for books and YouTube. I’m also thankful that I live where I can learn about a variety of ideas without censorship. I am also grateful to live in this stage of history. So many ideas, opinions, and resources are right at our fingertips.
Besides some of these “bigger” things, I try to remember the small blessings each day as well. For example, today I have been thankful for quiet mornings, warm water, wood walls, stone floors, clean clothes, salads, blankets, coneflower seeds, tennis shoes, homeschooling, scheduling freedom, smiles, journals, Instagram, tap shoes, pajamas, and winter.
I guess some of these small blessings are actually big! They also all join together to create a beautiful and blessed life!
I hope you can see all the little blessings in your life, friends. Let’s remember to slow down and really appreciate what we have.
