Last week, my husband and I walked the aisles of Hobby Lobby, looking for all things green and gold. A special occasion was near. My fourth child was almost 18 years old!
As I’m sure you know if you’re a mother, time flies. It was just yesterday that I pushed through attending my daughters’ dance performance, as big as a whale, hoping to not go into labor. Well, my wish was granted and I went into labor with Morgan as soon as we got home. My husband swears that women can control when they go into labor to a degree.
Morgan came into this world knowing what she wanted, and she is this way still. She is a young woman who knows her mind, and it has been a joy to watch her grow up.
I can also hardly believe that I have four adult children now. Wow!
This time around, I am less sad for me, and more excited for her. While it would be nice if our children stopped growing at some point and stayed children forever, alas, this is not the case. To be honest, none of us would really want that anyhow. We are meant to grow, and one day, make a life of our own.
I do get to keep all of the memories of her childhood tucked into my heart, which I am eternally grateful for.
For her birthday, I purchased her a Moss Agate necklace and a Southeastern Medicinal Plant Guide. She loved them both! She is totally into nature, like I am. (And guys, this necklace is gorgeous! I would like to have one for myself one day.)

She requested doughnuts, doughnut holes, and potato chips for a snack. Today, we plan to take her to a Mexican restaurant and a couple of shops.
I love her so much and hope she has an amazing time.
She is finishing up her senior year, and before long I will be planning a little graduation party. Crazy talk, I tell you!
I’m so grateful for her and for the dynamic she adds to our family. Also, being her mom is pretty amazing!
