Welcome to the blog today, friends. It looks like I’ve posted two days in a row. Who even am I?
Before I go any further, I’d like to mention that The Amish Schoolmarm is FREE on Kindle today and tomorrow. If you like Amish Historical Fiction, I hope you give it a try. Oh, and tell all of your friends. If you like the novel, it would make my day if you left a review. You can find it here.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, how are you doing? Is your January going well?
To be honest, I didn’t really want for December to end. It was just so much fun. I enjoyed celebrating both the Winter Solstice and Christmas with my family. Here are a few photos:

(I cut branches from a tree in our woods and dehydrated orange slices on the winter solstice.)

(Our Christmas tree. Everyone received two to four gifts, and we had a grand time.)
Anyhow, now we are settling into January. I’m viewing this time as a way to rest, and recharge. The short days help me to remember to do just that.
I’ve been spending a lot of time on my couch, while writing this week. A few of my children have been under the weather, so we’ve just been hanging out together. On the couch. (So lovely.) On Monday, we are back to our regularly scheduled program. Our homeschool starts up again, and my husband will begin his college classes. He’s going back to school after about twenty years! I’m so happy for him, and I hope it goes well.
After a few weeks of holiday activity, I’m excited to get back into a slower rhythm. Well, being a homeschool mom isn’t the most restful activity in the world. But, implementing a gentle rhythm in our home once again is just what my body needs.
As always, I’m doing my best to look for blessings each day. Also, being mindful is great. When I really pay attention to what’s going on around me, I live my life to the fullest. The days seem longer, and more enjoyable.
I hope you’re doing well, friends. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
