Beautiful February

Goodness, February is such a beautiful time. For us here in North Georgia, it often feels like the season is changing into spring.

Daffodils are blooming, and some of my plants are starting to turn green. My hellebores are certainly putting on a show!

After Valentine’s Day was over, I decided to take down our tree. Though it is still officially winter, I can definitely tell the days are growing longer, and I’m looking forward to brighter days. After giving our living room a good cleaning, I brought out a few items to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

I love to research the history of celebrations, and I’ve discovered that St. Patrick’s Day was preceded by “Alban Eilir,” which is the druidic name for the spring equinox. It was also known as Ostara, which has evolved into Easter.

Isn’t history interesting?

Anyhow, I’ve brought out my shamrocks and green, and am looking forward to March.

Our homeschool has been moving forward in a lovely rhythm, and the end of our year is in sight. My high schooler is working completely independently this year, and my other children need a couple of hours of my time in the afternoon. Isn’t it nice when a family settles into a routine that works for everyone?

Speaking of schedules, my writing schedule is feeling great in this season, as well. I’ve settled on writing for 1.5 hours each morning before my children wake up, and this works out nicely for everyone. Sometimes I do a little more or a little less, but I’m not getting burnt out and books are being published. Definitely a win-win.

Next week, Her Island Surprise releases, which I’m very excited about. If you’ve liked my Amish of Appalachia series, I think you’ll enjoy Josie’s story. She finds love in Tybee Island after leaving Clear Creek and the Amish faith behind.

It is available for pre-order now!

I hope you have an amazing day, friends!
