Happy June, friends! After several weeks of rain, the sun has made an appearance. It’s such a beautiful day. One of my oldest daughters has taken most of my other kiddos over to her boyfriend’s house to swim, and I have a few minutes to write to you.
Just like the other months, June is so beautiful. Nature is exploding with life and I’m reminded of the goodness of God everywhere I look.
I love how life ebbs and flows, just like the seasons. For me, it has been a season of quiet contemplation and lots of reading! My book stack has grown very high, and I wake up early to either write or read each morning. Lately, reading has won out.
I just love to read new ideas, and for my knowledge base to expand. I usually read about spiritual and religious things, because this topic interests me so much.
I just finished The Mystery of Marriage by Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh. (affiliate link) While I’m not Jewish, I love to read Kabbalah based interpretations of the Old Testament. This book was a whopping 499 pages, but it didn’t take me too long to read because a lot of it was extensive footnotes that I didn’t dive too deeply into.

My marriage is very important to me, and I love to read different perspectives about married life from time to time. This book was a winner in my opinion, and I definitely will be rereading it again in the future.
This June, my husband and I might try to get away for a little while to celebrate our 20th anniversary, which was in March. We’d planned to take a trip on our actual anniversary, but my mother-in-law was just diagnosed with breast cancer at that time. Everything seems stable now, and we hopefully will be able to spend a few days alone together to celebrate 20 years of marriage.
Marriage goes through cycles kind of like the seasons, too. Which is one of the reasons I just read 499 pages about it! I think it is always good to devote time to learning how to become a better partner, and how to understand your spouse better.
I’ll also be finalizing our homeschool plans for next year this month, which is exciting. I love being a homeschool mom. That too isn’t without its challenges, but it’s worth every last one.
I hope your June is full to the brim of good things!
