Becoming a Wise Woman No. 4

Hello friends, and welcome to the blog today.

I’ve been working through lots of homemaking and homeschooling tasks today, but thought I’d take a little break to share some more “women’s wisdom” with you. I’ve been reading Woman’s Wisdom: The Garden of Peace for Women by Rabbi Shalom Arush, and I thought it would be nice to share some of my notes with you.

I’m not Jewish, and not everything in this book applies to me. But, I’ve been able to glean a lot of wisdom from it nonetheless.

A few of my recent notes:

  • A woman’s main strength lies in her power to pray on behalf of her husband and children.
  • Prayer is the epitome of giving.
  • A woman knows how to best pray for her home because she is keenly aware of everything that happens in it.
  • Women can learn to be the best possible influence on their husbands.
  • Seek the good within a person…yourself included.
  • We can strengthen our husband by looking for his good points and pointing them out. This will help him to learn to love himself, be happy with himself, and stay away from evil.
  • Seeking the good points in others encourages them to strive for even more good points.
  • A wife should seek out her own good points to feel self love.
  • A husband and wife should be good friends. Friendship is the foundation that love is built on.
  • Dedicated love and friendship involves the level of divine compassion that can work miracles.
  • We should be appreciative of the many little favors and kindnesses our husbands do for us each day.
  • If we are not grateful for the kindnesses of our husbands, eventually we won’t be grateful for the kindnesses of God.
  • We should be grateful for all of creation.
  • A woman shouldn’t show disdain for any object that is currently helping her. For example, she shouldn’t trample on her clothing. She should be careful not to mistreat anyone.
  • In that case, a woman definitely shouldn’t mistreat an individual who has done thousands of favors for her…her husband.

I hope you enjoy chewing on these thoughts as much as I have, friends. Have a fantastic day!
