Today Did Not Go as Planned

Hello friends, and welcome to the blog!

I hope you are doing wonderfully. Overall, it has been a very good week here.

Today has not gone as planned, however. I woke up with a migraine headache. I haven’t had one of these in a long time, and we’ve decided not to go to any firework displays tonight.

Instead, I’m lying in bed while my husband is grilling hotdogs and tofurkey (for my daughter and I). We purchased a package of sparklers, which should be a lot of fun for our kiddos, too. I don’t like to set fireworks off at our home, since I know it disturbs the wildlife and also scares our animals.

If I feel better tomorrow, we might take our kids to the zoo! I sure hope this happens, because a zoo trip is always fun.

Today has been nice though, because I’ve been forced to rest. We all need to rest at times, and I rarely, if ever, spend the day in my bedroom. It felt strange, and yet refreshing.

This week has been full of learning for me. I completed the Enlightened Empath Certification from Transformation Academy, and I loved it.

This is the second certification I’ve worked through with Transformation Academy, and it won’t be my last. Kumari (the instructor) was like a breath of fresh air in this course. She was so sweet, and I got so much out of it as a HSP (highly sensitive person).

Other than that, I’ve been soaking up the beautiful summertime…mostly in the early morning and evening hours. I’ve done a lot of walking and talking with my kiddos, which has been so much fun. I’ve also pondered our upcoming school year.

My youngest will be starting kindergarten this year, and it feels so bittersweet. I can’t believe this will likely be the final time I teach kindergarten! I hope to make the year special and exciting for both of us, along with my other children too, of course!

It’s gonna be great. If you’d like to check out the short book I wrote about homeschooling, please click here.

I sure do love this simple, quiet life of mine.

I will be sure to tell y’all about our curriculum choices soon. I’m finalizing everything right now, and most of our supplies have already arrived.

If you celebrate the Fourth of July, I hope you have a blessed and safe evening. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, friends!
