Hello, friends! Whew, the last few months have flown by like a whirlwind! I’m afraid I’ve overextended myself once our homeschool year began. I’m starting to find my bearings, and the past week or two have gone a little smoother.
While homeschooling is going well, it’s taking up a lot of my time this year. Much more than I anticipated, to be honest. Add to that having a household to run, Etsy orders to make, and a writing project I’m hoping to complete very soon. (Less than 2,000 words left.) Click here to check out my Author page!
And I’ve let writing on this blog slide. There simply hasn’t been time!
But today I thought I’d write to you, dear friend. We just returned home from the craft market and guitar lessons for my son. Chili is in the crock pot, and the scent is giving off amazing fall vibes. I’m going to allow myself an hour to just be before working on a few more Etsy things and cleaning the house for my daughter’s 13th birthday tomorrow.
Life has been good. Busy, but good.
In this season of life, rest just seems heavenly, though. So sitting here and writing to you fits my bill perfectly.
There has been lots of scary and big things happening in the world lately, and I know it can feel overwhelming sometimes. I used to really let world news bother me, but thankfully I don’t do that so much anymore.
I find it’s much better to trust that God has everything under control, and to believe that everything is working out for His purposes. Even when the world seems anything but good.
Maybe it’s a good thing that I’ve been so busy lately. My mind has definitely been distracted! But I do have a deep knowing that everything will work out okay. How could it not?
While there are many big things that are totally out of my control right now, there are also many little things that I can control within my household. I think it’s probably best to concentrate on what is going on within the walls of my home.
I love to create a cozy and inviting home, and fall is just perfect for this! I actually pulled out my fall decor at the end of August this year, which is unheard of for me. But I knew it would bring a little bit of cheer to everyone.
So for now, I’m concentrating on the difference I can make right where I am. I’m taking each day at a time, while thinking of ways to arrange my schedule better. Because while I’ve tried my best to embrace this busy season, it hasn’t been my favorite. I’m so excited that the dark half of the year (where I live in the Northern Hemisphere) is almost upon us, because to me, it’s just perfect.
I hope you have an amazing fall, friends. Oh, and hopefully I will eventually share all our homeschool curricula before the year totally gets away from me!
