Almost two years ago, I purchased a book and then promptly put it on my bookshelf. I was in the midst of exploring many different spiritual themes, and didn’t have the time to read it just yet.
And then I forgot about it. The book was Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
I’ve been leaning into my intuition lately, and following where it takes me. So when I thought about this book two or three times out of the blue over the past week, I decided it was time to read it.
And I couldn’t put it down!

Well, that’s not entirely true. While I did read the book in one day, I did teach my children, exercise, and clean the bathrooms and kitchen. I read it in little pockets throughout the day, which got the job done.
I’ve believed that reincarnation is likely something that can happen after one dies for probably two-three years now. At one point, I did a lot of research into the University of Virginia reincarnation studies which were very convincing. Rationally speaking, I know that physical matter is constantly changing forms, so it makes sense to me that the same can be said about the spiritual.
Well, I’m now further convinced after reading Many Lives, Many Masters.
About the book:
“As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the “space between lives,” which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career. With more than one million copies in print, Many Lives, Many Masters is one of the breakthrough texts in alternative psychotherapy and remains as provocative and timeless as it was when first published.”
It was so interesting!
After digesting what I’d read overnight, I came back this morning to take some notes. I keep a notebook on an end table in our living room for me to write down all sorts of things. From prayer requests, to intuitions, to book notes, this notebook holds it all.
A few takeaways:
- Not only do we experience growth on the physical plane, but we do on the spiritual plane, too. We arrive on the spiritual plane burned out from physical life, and then rejuvenate on the spiritual plane.
- We learn faster in spiritual form than in physical form.
- We may choose to stay in spiritual form, but if we need to keep working on a relationship we come back.
- Everything is balanced, but humans haven’t learned that yet. Humans will eventually destroy themselves.
- We always make progress through lifetimes.
- Wisdom is achieved very slowly because intellectual knowledge, which is easily acquired, must be transformed into emotional knowledge.
- Balance and harmony are neglected today, yet they are the foundations of wisdom.
- Happiness is rooted in simplicity.

I enjoyed this book so much, I’ve ordered another one of Brian Weiss’s books, Only Love is Real. I’m super excited for it to arrive.
Have you read either of these books? If so, what did you think?
