Become the Best Version of Yourself

,

I think it’s going to be another beautiful December day. I don’t have too much on my plate, and am looking forward to straightening the house, spending time with my family, and working on a new website for my bow business. The latter has been a chore, but I’m getting there.

I aim to run three days per week, and this week is especially exciting since my husband and I will be participating in a “Reindeer Run” 5K on Saturday, which benefits the American Cancer Society. I think I may pick up some new Christmas-themed socks to wear later in the day.

While running yesterday, I was thinking. Running clears my mind so well, and gives me a huge mood boost, which is wonderful. It’s the perfect time for me to think about life.

Life is interesting, and full of twists and turns. I love to think deeply about it and try to understand why things are as they are. Then, I think about how I can be the most helpful to both myself and others.

So yesterday, I was thinking about health and disease, and how these two things are closely related to our emotions and attitudes.

Yeah, just a little light thinking while I ran!

Anyhow, it occurred to me that we are the best and highest version of ourselves when we live a life of love, joy, peace, and happiness. Conversely, we are the worst or lowest version of ourselves when we allow things like anger, bitterness, annoyance, and hate to take over.

There are lots of studies which compare the relationship between these emotions and our health and general well being. There’s definitely a correlation.

If we want to live our best lives, it’s a good idea to focus on our high frequency emotions, and love even when it seems hard. Find joy in the little things, and peace among the chaos. Look at the bright side of things, and remember that even when everything seems to go wrong in life, there is a silver lining. I firmly believe that there is a good reason when something “bad” happens, and uncomfortable situations can be our best teachers.

As I jogged through our woods, I thought, Goodness, I want to be the best version of myself as I move through life. The highest version. And it starts with having a good attitude.

We reap what we sow, right? What goes around, comes around. I don’t know about you, but I want my life to be filled with good things. That’s not going to happen if I’m not living in a place of peace and joy to begin with.

The older I get, the easier it is for me to live this out. Through the years, I’ve learned that life usually works itself out. God has been so good to me, and as long as I live in a place of peaceful surrender, all will be okay.

The same goes for you! I don’t think we have to know all the things to become better people. We just simply need to choose love and kindness. The rest will fall into place.

I hope you have a wonderful day, friends. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
