No. 14: Notes from Home | A Springtime Week in My Life

Hey friends. I’m so thankful it’s Friday. Are you? We have an exciting weekend ahead of us. Tomorrow, I hope to work in the garden and go out on a date with my husband. On Sunday, we get to watch my daughters’ dance recital. How fun!

It’s been a good week. This past Sunday, my husband, daughter and I ran a 5K race down a mountain. Both my daughter and Rusty set a new personal record. I’m so excited for them! While I was running my heart rate spiked and I started to feel nauseous, so I slowed myself down. I ended up finishing in 29:31. I spent the rest of the day planting half of my raised bed garden and making Etsy orders for my sweet customers.

On Monday, we took half of our kids to Dollywood. We’ve been pass holders for a couple of years, and some of us are growing tired of it. I never thought that would be a thing with my children, haha! So half of us went, and we had a great time. We packed food and ate sandwiches on the way home.

On Tuesday, I enjoyed an amazing home day. It rained in the morning, and afterwards, I jogged. We worked on some homeschool things, and I finished a couple of lessons in my aromatherapy course. I also made four Winnie the Pooh hair bows. These are good sellers in my Etsy shop.

On Wednesday, we completed homeschool work on the morning. In the afternoon, we traveled over an hour away to my daughters’ dance dress rehearsal. Getting the girls ready for their practice took quite awhile!

On Thursday, we were at home. Hooray! Homeschool and working in the garden were on the agenda, as I try to finish planting out our raised beds. Our in ground garden area desperately needs attention. I baked bread, and my little guys hunted for cicada exoskeletons for hours. I also paid some bills, and guys, I am not okay with how much everything costs now. I think I’m going to rethink our budget, or even implement a no spend period.

And here we are at Friday. Wonderful, amazing, Friday. Today I hope to homeschool and clean. If we all work together, hopefully cleaning will not take too long.

I’ve really enjoyed the time spent at home, of course. Several of us love to spend time outside, and the weather has been so nice. Wednesday marked the mid-point of spring, and our yard is definitely full of life and vitality at the moment.

While we’ve been busier this week than some, I’ve made it a point to be kind to myself and slow down when I can. Wellness in general is so important. I’ve taken it easy after running the downhill race on Sunday, and tried to get enough sleep. I’ve eaten nourishing foods and spent time reading and reflecting.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, friends!
