An Autumnal Aromatherapy Blend for Your Diffuser

As an aromatherapist, I love to create simple blends to use throughout the year.

Autumn is such a wonderful season, and it’s so nice to diffuse warm and grounding scents during this time in my opinion.

Diffusers are great, because they provide a simple way for essential oils to enter the air of a room. Aromatic diffusion can reduce stress and anxiety, increase alertness, support respiratory health, and improve air quality, depending on what oils you use.

My favorite diffusers have not been the expensive ones that MLM distributors sell. My diffuser comes from Amazon, and it’s been working great for years now. (My exact model is no longer sold, but it’s very similar to this one.)

The number of drops you use will depend on your diffuser’s water capacity. In general, use the following amount of essential oils in your diffuser:

  • 100 ml: 3–5 drops
  • 200 ml: 6–10 drops
  • 300 ml: 9–12 drops
  • 400 ml: 12–15 drops
  • 500 ml: 15–20 drops

Here’s a nourishing Autumnal Blend to try, which is appropriate to add to 200-300 ml of water.

  • Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) 4 drops
  • Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) 3 drops
  • Copaiba (Copaifera officinalis) 3 drops

What are some of the benefits of this blend?

Sweet Orange is an airborne antiseptic, and it is a definite mood lifter. It helps to lift stress, irritability, and depression. I love to include Sweet Orange in my blends because of this benefit alone.

Cedarwood is distilled from the wood of the cedar tree, and naturally deodorizes the environment. Cedarwood also supports respiratory health, promotes quality sleep, and can improve focus and attention.

Copaiba provides an earthy aroma that is both energizing and stabalizing. This oil can promote feelings of joy, and is a fantastic addition to this blend.

If you give this blend a try, I hope you enjoy it. Happy Autumn!
