A Hard Week and January Hopes and Dreams

, ,

Ah, I’m so glad it’s Friday. This week I’ve been hobbling along, trying to stick to our normal schedule.

And friends, it’s felt hard.

That’s just the way life is sometimes, isn’t it? There’s no shame in being thankful for a break from our schedule, or in looking forward to trying something new.

I think I mentioned missing a craft market tour a week or two ago on this blog since my family was sick. I’ve been disappointed that I missed it ever since. I was considering renting a spot in the market for my bows and books, and was really looking forward to checking out the facility.

I was unsure about the price though. And also the fact that I really don’t have the time to fill an entire booth full of products. I’m used to making items to order for my Etsy shop, and I didn’t know if I should make hundreds of bows without knowing if they would sell or not.

Well, I spoke to the owner of the market today, and she said that I could indeed rent a four-foot-wide by eighteen-inch-deep end cap for $50 per month. Friends, this sounds perfect for what I’m hoping to sell and from a rent standpoint. I honestly feel giddy! Hopefully, my husband and I will stop by the location on Sunday to scope it out and see what supplies we’ll need to build the space out.

While I am still a little concerned about the possibility of theft since my items are small, I’m going to give it a go.

I hope to keep y’all updated with pictures and such as time goes on. So many design decisions lay ahead, which are so much fun!

If that’s not exciting enough, tomorrow my husband is taking me to one of my favorite restaurants because we haven’t gone on a date in nearly one month.

Very, very exciting stuff.

This weekend is just what I need to lift my spirits.

Don’t get me wrong. Life is good, every last bit of it. Even when we’re not feeling well, or days just don’t go as planned.

Today, I spent a few minutes outside after I finished cleaning the bathrooms. It was beautiful. (Both the bathroom cleaning and the sunset.) You see, when I cleaned the bathrooms, I was reminded that I have an amazing family to take care of and love. And going outdoors reminds me of how I’m connecting to this beautiful world, and it fills my soul like nothing else.

All of this is to say, I hope you have a beautiful weekend, friends. I hope your cup is filled to the very top.

  1. Thank you for sharing such an honest and heartfelt post. It’s refreshing to read about the ups and downs of daily life and how you find joy and gratitude in the little moments, even during challenging weeks.
The craft market opportunity sounds wonderful! The smaller end cap space seems like a great solution, and it’s exciting to hear how things are falling into place for your bows and books. I can imagine the fun of planning and designing your setup—please do share pictures when it comes together! As for concerns about theft, it’s understandable, but it sounds like you’re taking thoughtful steps to make this a success.
Your reflection on the beauty of cleaning the bathrooms and the sunset made me pause—it’s such a lovely reminder to find gratitude in even the simplest tasks. It’s inspiring how you stay grounded and connected to the things that matter most: family, creativity, and nature.
I hope your date night is everything you’re hoping for and that your weekend leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed. Thank you for sharing your journey.

    1. Kris, thank you so much for your sweet comment. It made my morning!

I will definitely be sharing more about life in general, along with my booth process. I’m really looking forward to becoming a vendor again after taking a decade off. 🙂

      Warmly, Nicole
