Celebrating May

Good morning, friends! What a beautiful month it has been so far!

As always, I’ve woken up early to spend some time reading and studying. This has been my habit for several years now, and I don’t think I’d ever like to go without it.

And just outside, the world is waking up. Birds are chirping, and are so loud that I can hear them very clearly while sitting on my couch. I think my plan to create a bird sanctuary on our property is working!

The month of May has long been associated with spring, fertility, and so much more. Nature has certainly woken up and is putting on a show in the northern hemisphere.

May is National Wildflower Month, and it’s no wonder. Delicate flowers are gracing the world with so much beauty right about now. It is a wonderful time to take a nature walk, or to visit a botanical garden.

I love to just sit outside in silence and connect with the world around me. Other than my reading and writing time, this is my favorite way to reflect on life. Living simply and purposefully has been my motto lately, and spending time outdoors helps me accomplish this goal.

It is time to fling open our windows, and let fresh air move through our homes. It also is a good idea to bring the outside in. A nice bouquet always makes a room feel so lovely.

We are preparing to take a short trip, and will leave this morning. I’m looking forward to exploring the natural environment in the seaside town we plan to visit. Spending time in nature is one of my favorite ways to connect with God.

I can’t wait to see what May looks like there. We usually vacation on this particular island in the fall, and I will be in for a treat to see how different it looks in spring. I think I’m really going to like it there. It will also be so nice to take a little breath…unfortunately, I have the tendency to stay a little too busy sometimes. Imagine that! The next few days should be a nice reprieve.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, friends.
