A Humble Heart

Good morning, friends. I hope you and yours are doing well! By yesterday evening, my home was becoming kind of chaotic. I’m glad my kiddos were having a fun time together, though! I must admit that I was very happy to get a good night’s sleep.

I did some studying (in the midst of the chaos!) yesterday. It was nice. We sat down as a family to watch a teaching on YouTube, and I was able to get in about ten minutes of reading time. Oh, how I love reading! It definitely is wonderful when I am able to read.

All day long the theme of humility kept coming back to me. I know that humility is so important.

Modesty and humility often go hand in hand. During my reading time today I read this passage, and I would like to share it with you.

“As part of being modest in one’s involvements, one must acquire the trait of being satisfied with his lot, and should only desire for himself that which is necessary for the needs of his body and soul. One should not covet the possessions of those who are more wealthy, which are not necessary for him. A person who does so will have a happy and good life, whereas one who desires excesses will not have peace or happiness, because he is always desiring more than he has.

In all a person’s ways, he should be very modest.”

Walking humbly, modestly, and discreetly is a wonderful goal to have.

Thanks for stopping by today, friends!
