The smell of bread baking in the oven wafts through the air, and I’m working on my last load of laundry for the day. Hints of orange dot the trees as I glance at them outside of my window. What a warm, comforting feeling.
October is such a cozy time. Many homemakers feel relief once the weather breaks. We may have many things to do in our homes before winter sets in, but at least the crisp air makes it feel easier.
The change I see in nature encourages me somehow, too. The bright colors all around lift my spirits. Yes, winter is coming, but not before the trees put on a grand show.
It’s nice to contemplate the season we’re in, isn’t it? I found this poem recently, and I thought it personified October quite well.
The fields are harvested and bare,
And winter whistles through the square.
October dresses in flame and gold
Like a woman afraid of growing old.
May you enjoy your weekend, friends. I will be back next week to share more thoughts with you.
